"Never allow the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." - Babe Ruth
Breakout Second Basemen
Zack Gelof, Oak, 24
All-Star Break 2023 to End of Season:
69 GP, 2nd Most HR, 14, behind Marcus Semien. 6th most Steals, 14. Came with a .267 AVG and a .840 OPS.
2023 Splits:
A fine rookie season but needs work on lefties.
198 AB vs Right, 13 HR, .303 AVG, .971 OPS
72 AB vs Left, 1 HR, .167 AVG, .486 OPS
Note:
Has the talent to build on his first season. Oakland’s offense is one of the worst in baseball, but atleast he won’t receive extra pressure from an ambitious fan base.

Andres Gimenez, Cle, 25
All-Star Break 2023 to End of Season:
67 GP, decent AVG and OPS, .255 .717. Tied for 3rd for most steals during time period, 15.
2023 Splits:
All normal here.
Note:
A slight decline from the previous year, .297 AVG to .251, .837 OPS to .712. Can bounce back. Doubles and HRs stayed the course. Club option in 2030, going to get comfy in Cleveland with a team that has had success despite budget restraints. Only negative, he is currently projected for the bottom third of Cleveland’s lineup.

Edouard Julien, Min, 24
All-Star Break 2023 to End of Season:
66 GP, 6th most runs during timespan, 41. Solid OPS for a 2B, .829.
2023 Splits:
292 AB vs Right, 16 HR, .274 AVG, .901 OPS
46 AB vs Left, 1 HR, .196 AVG, .447 OPS
Note:
Julien will need to improve his splits vs lefties if he wants to get more at bats. Despite the struggles, a great rookie campaign. Could expect 450 AB until he evens out the splits. Patience is a friend here.

Bryson Stott, Phi, 26
All-Star Break 2023 to End of Season:
68 GP, tied for third most with 15 steals. Good counting stats with a .253 AVG and a .732 OPS.
2023 Splits:
Faired well home/away and both against right/left.
Note:
Thanks to growth from year one to two, Stott found himself moving up the order as the season went on last year, ending in the top half consistently. If he can continue to improve, he could become a reliable, multi-category contributor.
